Connect & Contribute: Eye Gaze for Alternative Computer Access

Description

In this course, you’ll learn about the importance of independent computer access and what options are available for people with progressive conditions like amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or anyone with limited mobility. This course will explore what computer access means and why it matters to quality of life. You’ll cover important considerations for successful computer access with eye gaze, including accuracy, efficiency, and autonomy. You’ll also see examples of Tobii Dynavox solutions that address these considerations, including TD Control, TD Browse, Accessible Apps, C5 Windows Control, and Apple’s AssistiveTouch. Finally, you’ll learn how to troubleshoot eye gaze and increase success.

Learning Outcomes:

Describe computer access and its importance for supporting independence.

Identify three considerations for computer access for adults with a progressive diagnosis and limited mobility.

List two strategies to increase successful computer access with eye gaze
