Description

Are you supporting someone who is learning to communicate using AAC? Creating a positive communication environment is a great starting point! In this course you’ll learn specific and simple implementation tips to create a successful communication environment to support someone using AAC. You’ll learn about the necessary components to a positive communication environment and how to look for signs of success that you’ve created a supportive communication environment.

Upon successful completion, participants will be able to:

  1. State two reasons a positive communication environment benefits AAC communicators
  2. Name three components to creating a positive communication environment
  3. List two observations that note communication success for those using AAC

Lauren is a Learning Consultant for Tobii Dynavox. She is also a Speech Language Pathologist with extensive experience treating clients in rehabilitation centers, hospitals, and schools. Initially joining Tobii Dynavox as a Solutions Consultant, she worked directly with SLPs and their clients to explore assistive technology solutions. Now, as a Learning Consultant, her focus lies in developing and delivering trainings to empower communicators and their partners.
