Why AAC Matters: Ethical Solutions for Speech Language Pathologists

Description

Speech and language professionals will explore their responsibility in providing tools to support successful communication for the people they serve. Learners will address augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and its connection to the Communication Bill of Rights and the ASHA Code of Ethics. Learners will identify several common misconceptions of AAC, along with the evidence-based benefits of AAC. Finally, learners will apply AAC best practices to advocate for those they serve.
