Description For individuals with motor challenges, eye gaze technologies can be a tool for participating in their world and creating opportunities for independence and learning. In this course, you’ll learn why eye gaze is a foundational skill for someone who relies on their eyes to interact with their world. We will review suggestions for positioning and customization options within the Tobii Dynavox eye-tracking software for successful calibration. Caroline Gaddy, MFA, MA, CCC-SLP (they/she) is Learning Consultant for Tobii Dynavox. In addition, they are a speech-language pathologist, AAC specialist, disability advocate, and neurodiversity educator. Caroline worked for many years in school settings as a teacher and an SLP. They also worked in medical settings with adult and pediatric populations, and specialized in supporting communication access for people with multiple disabilities. Caroline is passionate about disability justice and inclusion, and firmly believes that communication is a fundamental human right.
